About Corinne McGrail
Corinne McGrail is a yoga teacher and founder of Curiously Calm who teaches one to one yoga, group classes, and workplace yoga in Maidenhead, Bray, Taplow and Burnham. She aspires to help people to feel better in mind and body and to move with more ease and grace, both on the yoga mat and in life generally.
"Whilst honouring its roots, I like to make yoga relevant to the modern world, the lifestyles that we are living now and the concerns that people are dealing with today. My approach blends science with creativity, harnessing an open mind and gentle curiosity to develop greater self-understanding and a sense of wonder at the beauty within our everyday lives. My classes help you to build strength and flexibility as well as mental clarity and focus. We incorporate mindfulness and breathwork and a touch of the grace and precision of the Pilates method that I also teach.
I remember as a child wondering how and why everything was as it was and perhaps it was this that led me initially into science and research. In the years that followed whilst working in my corporate day job I studied and practiced yoga, meditation, psychology and hypnotherapy and became increasingly intrigued by the mind body connection. I began to access approaches to handle stress and anxiety, improve sleep and energy levels, and to find a greater sense of clarity, calmness and wellbeing.
I believe that by simply being receptive and curious towards our experience, whatever is there, we begin to listen to what is within us and better understand who we are. We can hence become true to ourselves and more in tune with all that is around us."
